Living in Hawaii during 1977 through 1979 while in the US Army 25th Infantry Division, My spare time was exploring the many mountains and rain forest on Oahu and the Big Island. In photographing different locations above and below the water, the Waimea Falls provided some great opportunities to see beautiful orchids. Back in Fort Worth Texas my home town of growing up. I started a series of paintings using acrylic in 1981 to 1986. Most were painted on Arches Watercolor paper and this was the smoothest paper I have ever painted on. This provided great details of the flower and the ocean beach off Waimea Hawaii.
