The description on Equus – Abstract No. 29

In late 1979, the film version of Equus was shown on television when I was about twenty years old. Certain challenges of growing up with family in the Baptist Church, along with a disconnected family unit, the movie impacted my viewpoints on religious beliefs and of what sexual awareness was about.

The events of the movie were shocking, however the phycologist’s investigation helped me enter into understanding of how certain things can become a god in one’s life and can distort reality. After painting this piece and studying what I had created, I reflected on this as the theme of the apparent horse and the flow of movement where it seems attached or entwined.
